"Far away from fast-paced Manila"

As promised, here are a portion of photos from my extended cavite vacation. Some were taken in black and white, I think after viewing Sidney's blog a lot, i got into the habit.

Now you can also look at this post and consider it as a guide to cure boredom whenever you're in the province. Usually, one can easily get bored when they're far away from fast-paced Manila.

Main point: Be a kid again.

TOUCHBALL

A.k.a. dodgeball. Same rules apply here (dont get hit!).

BADMINTON

Ignore what studio 23 says (you know, the whole 16 feathers made from the left wing of a goose and other random facts), just get out some rackets and start smashing the shuttlecock at eachother. What? No court? Head to the street!

BASKETBALL

It's the country's favourite sport, which explains why every street
corner has a hoop dangling above it.

POOL | BILLIARDS

The local version that is. Here, instead of coloured balls with numbers on it, you use little disc things similar to that of a hockey puck. In my opinion, it's much harder than the one's you play at the pub.

SCOOTERS!

If you're a kid at heart like me, then why not challenge yourself by riding your little cousins scooter or bike. It makes you feel like a circus clown, but hey, you still enjoy yourself. The kid in this shot is my cousin Miko. I don't think the scooter is his thing.

ZIPS | POIS

This is more of a beach/hippie/clubbing sort of thing. They're those things that you spin around while trying to perform different tricks. Very fun, but very hard to do. As seen by my little sister, it's very to get tangled.

ICE CREAM!!!

A good way to cool off in the blistering heat.

"A day (and night) at the cemetery"

Cemeteries aren't scary at all.

Especially when it's November one and two, the time of year where everyone in the country visit their loved ones who have passed away. That's because you're surrounded by so many other loved ones (that are still alive, let me point out) and you're all there simply to have fun.

Here is my Lola (grandmother), smiling and having a great time with her children, grandchildren, and off course, husband, who is six feet below her. Notice how there isn't a trace of sadness in her face? That's my Lola!

And she was so nice to set a plate of noodles for Lolo (grandfather).

Tito Jesse, Papa Joseph, Tatay Bert.
Three uncles of mine in a row.

Here are only 1/12th of my cousins (except for the girl being strangled, she's my sister).
One is endorsing McDonalds, one is in a playfully murderous mood, One just wants to smile, while the McDonalads cousin goes off and plays with the zips.

It's the peanut man!!!

Once night time came, the little children started to play and run around like crazy. They're like werewolves I tell ya!

My Titas (Aunts) chatting.

Next time on I Heart Manila:
Because I chose to stay an extra week in Cavite since the cemetery experience, all the photos in my upcoming posts will all be about life there. I've divided them into different categories, so I wouldn't get confused. Mind you, there's a lot of them.
