"Excuse me, do you have any bottomless drinks?"

Bottomless | July 2005

Mmm... Sprite...
Best served when you can drink as much as you want.

Most restaurants serve several of their drinks bottomless/unlimited - whatever they wish to call it. That line up top is the first thing my friends and I usually ask upon arrival.

I wonder if they have this in New Zealand...

No, Burger King doesnt count.

No hurry at all

overpass_2 | July 2005

Students on their way to school.

I explored Ortigas Ave this morning at about 7am. It's one extremely long street filled with cars and pedestrians, and you can't hide from the blistering heat. People kept staring at me, which was annoying. I was the only one wearing black in such humidity, and they had unsure looks about my happy-meal sized camera.

Your Daily Headache

Traffic | July 2005

Traffic in the city.
No matter what time of day it is, you are guaranteed to get caught in traffic somewhere.

I'm sure it's saying "Ride Me"

Bike B/W | July 2005
My rarely used bike.
I hardly use it because:
  1. The traffic in the city is always intense, so I don't have much choice but to explore the ever monotonous streets of my village.
  2. The tires are flat (look closer).

Cat Crossing

Cat Crossing | July 2005

I was walking back home after zipping to the store to get some 'junk' food, and right outside my house was this cat. I found it really fascinating that he only walked on the white line (which, by the way is newly laid cement).

He's either very smart, or very compulsive when crossing the street.

Oasis in Ortigas

Metrowalk | July 2005

Metrowalk bw| July 2005

Metrowalk. Reminds me of a postcard.
It's one of three locations in Manila where I feel lazy and hyper, while making me capable of concentrating on my schoolwork (during the days I went to school, off course).

It's one of those places where I feel like an independent college student, living the Felicity life - minus the hair cutting. I've always dreamed of living alone while studying (odd I know), so I find it absolutely ironic that I'm stuck living the opposite, without a choice until January. *pouts*

Rice + Chocolate = Unusual Bliss

Champorado | July 2005

The Philippines is the only place I know where rice is served in every meal of the day. Most importantly breakfast.

This is champorado (correct my spelling if ever), or in layman's terms, rice with chocolate. Yes, chocolate.

What a wonderful thing to wake up to (and yes, it tastes good).

Forget your cereal and toast guys. Head to your nearest Filipino neighbour and have some.

The balcony

Last night I couldn't sleep (insomnia, I tell you). By 6am, the sun came up brightening up my balcony, a sight I havent seen in quite a while. Since I couldn't sleep, I took pictures of anything around me until I ran out of memory.

It's such a shame that the next door neighbours house was too big. I missed out on a probably good sunrise.

Congratulate me. I fell asleep during lunch.

I heart Manila?

Probably the one thing I don't like about Manila is its pollution. Everyone seems to blame the poor people on this. But even in classy residential areas like this one, people don't know how to respect the environment.

Tahen at Valle Verde 5 (my house is just down the road).

Flying Fish

Ever tried playing with zips? They're traditionally known as 'pois' and they're absolutely addicting to play with (thank you Maori culture).

This is me at Eastwood playing with some zips.
